Trevon Diggs Week 1 Return for Cowboys Still Uncertain

With the Dallas Cowboys’ regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles rapidly approaching, cornerback Trevon Diggs remains uncertain about whether he’ll be ready to take the field.

The two time Pro Bowl defender is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as he rehabs from knee cartilage surgery. Despite not yet returning to practice, Diggs shared a cautiously optimistic update: “I feel way better than I should feel,” but when asked about his availability for Week 1, he replied, “Maybe, maybe not.”

If Diggs remains on the PUP list once the Cowboys finalize their 53 man roster, he would be required to sit out the first four games of the season. However, if Dallas coaches believe he’s progressing fast enough, they could keep him on the active roster with a chance for an earlier return.

Trevon Diggs is aiming to ramp up his recovery and hopes to contribute at some point, but his participation in the season opener at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, September 4, 2025 is still uncertain.
