The Washington Commanders have secured wide receiver Terry McLaurin with a lucrative three year contract extension valued at $96 million, including a reported $30 million signing bonus, locking him in as one of the NFL’s highest-paid receivers.
The agreement brings an end to weeks of tension, marked by a holdout, a trade request, and time spent on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list due to an ankle injury.
Under the terms of the deal, McLaurin’s average annual value (AAV) reaches $32 million per season, placing him among the top-earning wide receivers league-wide a level that ties him with Eagles’ star A.J. Brown.
McLaurin, 29, returns from a breakout 2024 campaign that saw him haul in 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and a career high 13 touchdowns. His standout performance helped the Commanders reach the NFC Championship Game and earned him second-team All Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
With training camp behind him and the first game now looming, McLaurin is expected to again be the Commanders’ top receiving threat. Washington kicks off the 2025 season at home against the New York Giants on September 7.
