Josh Jacobs Embracing Fresh Start in Green Bay, Says He’s “Feeling Better Than Ever

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs is heading into the 2025 NFL season with a renewed sense of energy and purpose. After signing with the Packers in free agency earlier this year, Jacobs is already making his presence known at training camp and is optimistic about what lies ahead.

Speaking to reporters over the weekend, Jacobs expressed that he’s in the best physical and mental shape he’s been in for a while. “I just feel better than I have in years,” Jacobs said. “The energy here is different. It’s a great environment, and I’m excited to be part of something special.”

The former Raiders star is looking to re-establish himself as one of the league’s top backs. He’s coming off a challenging 2024 season that saw a dip in production, but he believes Green Bay’s system will bring out the best in him.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has already praised Jacobs for his work ethic and leadership, noting that his experience and versatility will be crucial to the team’s offensive plans. Jacobs has been heavily involved in team drills and has shown flashes of the explosive runner that earned him Pro Bowl honors in previous seasons.

“I’m just locked in,” Jacobs added. “The coaching staff trusts me, my teammates have welcomed me, and now it’s about doing my job and helping us win games.”

With the regular season fast approaching, Jacobs will look to solidify his role as Green Bay’s lead back. Fans are hopeful that his addition will boost the team’s rushing attack and provide much-needed balance on offense.
